Un día invernal mágico por este lado del mundo y hoy les traigo un diseño que tenía pendiente de hace muchos meses! Si les soy sincera, tengo muchisimos diseños que aún no logro traducir, otros que comencé y nunca terminé y otros que terminé de tejer pero nunca escribí el patrón jajajja el mal de la tejedora, también se me contagia (Ups!). Estos meses venideros espero ponerme al día con todos aquellos patrones que aún no ven la luz en mi página web o Ravelry, ya que son diseños que he tejido para revistas y los derechos de ellos han vuelto hace poco a mi. Ese es el caso del diseño que les presento hoy: Aim shawl, diseñado el año pasado para la revista Inside Crochet.
Hoy, además de contarles la inspiración de este diseño, quiero contarles un poco del mundo que me envuelve cada que tejo.
A magical winter day on this side of the world and today I bring you a design that I had pending for many months! To be honest, I have a lot of designs that I still can’t translate, others that I started and never finished them and others that I finished crocheting but never wrote the pattern hahahahaha the crocheter’s disease is also contagious (Oops!). These coming months I hope to catch up with all those patterns that have not yet seen the light of day on my website or Ravelry, since they are designs that I have crocheted for magazines and the rights to them have recently returned to me. That’s the case of the pattern I’m presenting you today: Aim shawl, designed last year for Inside Crochet magazine.
Today, besides telling you the inspiration for this design, I want to tell you a little bit about the world that surrounds me every time I crochet.
Como ya os he contado, este diseño está inspirado en Saraswati, diosa del conocimiento, la sabiduría y las artes, y «Aim» es un mantra que se canta en su honor. La energía de Saraswati se invoca cuando buscamos respuestas a través de la inspiración, para discernir la verdad de la confusión. Ella nos ayuda a encontrar, dentro de la sabiduría que ya existe en nuestro subconsciente, la espontaneidad de las palabras adecuadas para resolver situaciones que requieran herramientas intelectuales y agilidad mental.
As I have already told you, this design is inspired by Saraswati, goddess of knowledge , wisdom and arts, and «Aim» is a mantra chanted in her honour. Saraswati’s energy is invoked when we seek answers through inspiration, to discern truth from confusion. She helps us to find, within the wisdom that already exists in our subconscious, the spontaneity of the right words to resolve situations that require intellectual tools and mental agility.

El tejer para mí siempre ha tenido relación con mis creencias y mi forma de ver el mundo. Tejer está intimamente relacionado con mi sadhana, inteno llevar el Yoga a cada espacio de mi vida, tanto como sea posible y mi mente me permita.En el Yoga existe una práctica llamada Japa Yoga, que consiste en la meditación mediante Japa Mala, que es una tipo «collar» de meditación que está hecho de 108 cuentas, donde repites un mantra cada cuenta.
Y en este sentido, me gusta ver el tejido como un tipo de Japa Yoga, donde cada puntada o fila que tejes, es un mantra. Cada puntada te mantiene enfocada, mantiene tu mente tranquila y atenta en el presente. Soy de las que prefiere tejer en silencio y concentradas.
Crocheting for me has always been related to my beliefs and my way of seeing the world. Crocheting is intimately related to my sadhana, I try to bring Yoga into every space of my life, as much as possible and as much as my mind allows me. In Yoga there is a practice called Japa Yoga, which consists of meditation using Japa Mala, which is a type of meditation «necklace» made of 108 beads, where you repeat a mantra on each bead.
And in this sense, I like to see crocheting as a kind of Japa Yoga, where each stitch or row you work is a mantra. Each stitch keeps you focused, keeps your mind calm and attentive in the present. I am one of those who prefer to crochet in silence and concentration (miau).
Esto es lo que quería representar principalmente en este tejido, quería que fuese como un mantra para ti, quería que fuese tu acompañante en situaciones estresantes, en situaciones donde sólo quisieras mantenerte atenta y en calma. Ya que su contrucción es repetitiva y para nada cambiante, te acompañará amigablemente.
This is what I mainly wanted to represent in this fabric, I wanted it to be like a mantra for you, I wanted it to be your companion in stressful situations, in situations where you just want to stay attentive and calm. Since its construction is repetitive and not at all changeable, it will accompany you amicably.
¿Qué encontrarás en el patrón?/ what will you fin in the pattern?
Encontrarás un diseño que no tiene puntadas difíciles, sólo puntadas clásicas y un patrón repetitivo que te aprenderás después de haber tejido unos minutos.
Encontrarás las instrucciones punto a punto y diagramas para ayudarte si te acomoda más esta opción.
En cuanto al grosor, se recomienda un grosor DK, pero como no es una prenda con medidas, puedes tejerlo con el grosor que más te acomode, pero recordando que entre más grueso el material, más grande quedará y entre más delgado el material, más pequeño quedará tu shawl. Te recomiendo tejerlo en un color sólido, sin matices de colores para que la textura de este diseño se realce :).

As for the thickness, a DK thickness is recommended, but as this is not a garment with several sizes, you can crochet it with the thickness that suits you best, but remembering that the thicker the material, the bigger it will be and the thinner the material, the smaller your shawl will be. I recommend you to work it in a solid color, without color shades so that the texture of this design is enhanced 🙂
